Default white smoke redeux

My '99 with 155k miles seems to have a blown head gasket (thanks to all who confirmed my fears). I am thinking of replacing the engine with one with a lot fewer miles instead of spending the money for a rebuild. It seems like a better choice to replace the engine with one with 36 to 71K miles than repairing the old. Any thoughts or concerns? Seems the used engines are about $2,000 plus installation.
The replacement of the gaskets is a larger job than I want to take on right now.

I see you keep suggesting this swap. Have you done this to your car? Is it that much easier than rebuilding or replacing with another Jag engine? How does the cost compare?
