Default Whoa! No emergency brake!

Put emergency brake on for first time.....No workie!, must not be connected to the brake system. Anyone know the ins and outs of the emergency brake? DIY or garage?

Here's an overview of the system:

Don't take this the wrong way but before condemning it as not working, you have read the Driver's Handbook on how to set it?

I posted the same thing not too long ago, and I would have sworn I had tried every conceivable way with no luck. But, as everyone has said, the Jag has a weird parking brake that feels like it is not connected. Crank that thing as high as it will go, then crank it a little higher and you will finally feel the slack pulled up.
