Whole New Car - Cleaned MAF and Adjusted Throttle Cable
I'm sure most of you have probably done this many times, just wanted to post my pictures. After replacing the fuel filter a couple weeks ago, Craiglist Cat still seemed a bit lazy.
Opened the MAF up and saw 18,000 miles and 20 years of grime. Cleaned all 3 sensors with CRC brand MAF cleaner and dried with light compressed air and time. I also took the time to adjust the throttle cable to take out a turn and a half of slack but still rest appropriately on the throttle stops.
Brand new car. Throttle response is instant. On Gus' site I noticed his MAF readings, and mine were definitely low before cleaning. Going to plan on doing this every air filter change from now on.
MAF super dirty/oil coated. Two small wires to clean with MAF cleaner. Don't forget these. Took a pic of my part number. Bulb sensor super grimy and oil coated

I was getting the restricted performance warning on my recently purchased 2002 XK8 causing the 3k RPM redline, cleaned the MAF a week ago, have not had the warning since. It was quite dirty.
Fun to get it up around 5-5500 RPM now and feel the thrust
Any owner who has never performed the throttle cable adjustment needs to do so immediately. Takes only a minute or two and the results are always revolutionary....
