I'm having no start problems myself. A better description of the problem would help. Are you saying it cranks (motor turns over)? Is it normal or slow?
Do you hear a loud click when you first try. Do you hear a fast clicking when you are trying? Everything else work? i.e. lights, horn, etc.

The code indicates a fuel pump relay malfunction but as the fault is intermittent, it could be a failing fuel pump.
Here is the relevant extract for P1230 from the Jaguar DTC listing:

The ECM outputs a (Ground) signal to energize the Fuel Pump Relay Coil.
A contact on the Fuel Pump Relay energizes the Fuel Pump.
The ECM monitors the current flow to the Fuel Pump Relay Coil. (not the Fuel Pump itself). If the expected current is absent, a P1230 is posted.
The ECM does NOT monitor the current to the Fuel Pump itself.
There may be normal current to the Relay Coil but the Fuel Pump may not be running (for example if it is open circuit or a blown fuse ).
