I am trying to install wind deflector on 1998 xk8 conv. looks like an OEM piece. the previous owner didn't have a key for the 2 buttons, so I am thinking of taking it to locksmith to make a key.

there seems to be a bushing or something missing on the little rod that comes out when the button is pushed. I am wondering what secures the rod inside the circular disks on the rear panel of the car?
