I just noticed that the vent covers under the window on my 03 XKR seem to be loose, like they are not clipped in right. I tried to push them down but the outside corners do not want to stay down, they stick up about 1/8 inch. I checked the ones on my 01 XK8 and they seem to be OK. Any body have any ideas what causes this? I would think that these covers just pop up and off!!

The dash top and clips de-laminate from the metal dash itself. It is a rather annoying job to fix correctly, but I did a writeup on it a while back:

I'm going to have to do this again sometime, since the glue I used seems to have come apart again. I may go for the calking rod solution proposed in the same thread, just because I'm not sure how many times the plastic tabs can withstand removing the grills.
