Default Window molding and headlight '99 XK8

Good afternoon everyone! What a great forum here!

I had recently purchased a 99 XK8 convertible with 48K miles on it. Topaz/Oatmeal. I am the second owner. (yes, I did my due diligence on the motor and so far everything has checked out).

Anyway, there are 2 cosmetic items I need to attend to...outside of this the car is in showroom condition.

One: The windshield reveal molding. This is coming loose (separating from the glass) on the drivers side upper corner. I am attributing this due to age, as the car appears to have the original glass and was garaged most of it's life. I priced the one half piece online at about $180. Is this a job I can do myself to replace, or should I get a dealer or windshield shop to do it?

Two: The drivers side headlight is slightly out of alignment. Meaning it doesn't sit flush with the curve of the front quarter panel and bumper (where the two panels meet at the outside headlight curve of the light). The rubber gasket is protruding out about 3/16". There are two inches of headlight gasket in this condition. There is no evidence of body damage that would cause this, only maybe that the light assembly was replaced at some point and the installer slightly missed the install. It is not noticeable from all angles, but I know its there
I was hoping to remove the light assembly and reinstall to try and get a better fit. I did see a previous post that outlined this procedure, but am unable to view the pics. Probably due to my new status here. If someone could walk me through that, that would be great.

I don't have any pics at the moment to upload, but wanted to check in.

I'm in the Charlotte NC area.

Cheers,
Dave

Welcome dave, if you get a second or two, stop by the New Member section for two checklist items... (1) Introduce yourself and allow yourself to get a few greetings from the member crowd, and (2) take a look at the very top of the New Member list, there should be a sticky there that reads 'Please Read - New Members', something like that... there's some good info there to get some traction on how the forum works.

Good luck w/ that headlight!

Hi Dave, you're obviously an enthusiast and I've upgraded your status to full access so you can see / post pics.
Please stop by the new member section though and do a brief intro to the site...it lets everyone know you're here and welcome you accordingly!
