Default Wiper blade sizes? (21" or 22")

Recently bought 21" Bosch ICON silicone wiper blades for my 2001 XK8. This brand worked so well on my X type in the snow, I was sold on them. So, standing in Autozone and reading the catalog for blade sizes I was surprised to see that 1997 through 2005 XK8 uses 21" blades. Then in 2005 and 2006 it is recommended to use 22" blades.

My question, will a 22" blade fit on my 2001. Whats changed? Looking at the margins, It appears that 22" would fit.
thanks. Jeff

I recently installed 21's on mine, but I'm sure 22's would fit. That's only an extra half inch on each end.

I was so frustrated with fitting aftermarket wiper blades on my car (tried all sizes, two different brands) and at the end of the day, the passenger side never properly formed to the windshield. I bought the wiper blade with new inserts from the dealer for about $15 ea.

Wink

H20Boy, It is predicted to rain tomorrow, so I will see how the Bosch Icons work. I liked that Bosch deleted all steel parts eliminating the scratch potential and have aero shape which increases down draft as your speed increases. Not that I drive fast in the rain..... wink wink.

I rarely use my wipers. Rainex works wonders on a windshield. The wipers only get turned on if I haven't Rainexed my windows in a long time.
