Wiper problem - 2005 XK8 Convertible: Local independent specialist replaced some relays to resolve a throttle problem. When car was returned the wipers only operate on fast speed. Do not self park and no slow or intermittent wipe available. I have sprayed the contacts on the two relays with WD40 and switched the units around but not resolved. Has anyone had similar problem?

 

There are two relays for the wipers......check them both and make sure both of them have five terminals and not just four. Sounds like they may have installed one on/off relay instead of a change-over relay. Easy enough to check.

Thanks for your help on this. The relays were 4 pin, have now replaced with 5 pin and all seems to be OK. I guess the garage was playing with a whole range of relays to sort out the previous throttle problem.
