Tony, There are a number of vendors that well the bushings, I've read a number of threads on this some are good other people didn't like. Pwerflex is one. I would recommend you change both sides though. Keep in mind there will be shims on the pivot bolt when you remove it, keep these in order they affect your alignment (caster I think)...

this is a pretty big job for me.... was thinking about getting the parts and having a local mechanic install, at least i can buy just the rubber.... by the way i did 3 calipers so far.. had to clean them up good a lot of old rust. after the rain passes in the next few days i'll do the last one.... but i couldn't find any clear coat in any of the stores around my neighborhood..... ( tried pepboys auto zone local speed shops ) will find it sooner or later and spray it on....

What is the condition of the upper shock mounts? Ride height from wheel center to fender lip was 15.74", 15.25 is not unusual as springs age. If below that I would change the upper shock mounts at the same time.
I was looking at a 2000XKR yesterday with a clunk in the front end, and found the lower control arms can slide back and forth on the bolts, so I will probably do the whole thing soon.
But the upper bushings are easy if the bolt comes out. Some have had to cut it and remove in pieces.

not sure ( only a weekend mechanic lol ) all pretty much new to me... but i'll look into the height tks.. a mechanic looked at the control arm this weekend and said i need the rubber on the upper control arm... it was a lil loose when he moved it and there was a lil space between the rubber i guess from wear and tear... alignment is straight and tires are wearing evenly..
.............................................
just measured from the bottom lip of the center piece on the rim ( the jaguar emblem) to the fender lip and it was approx. 15 and a 1/4 inches on both sides.......

The Upper Wishbone Bushes probably have the shortest lifespan of any of the suspension parts. I averaged about 25K miles between changes on both my XK8's using OE bushes.
I don't like polybushes but that's just my personal preference. They give a harsher ride which many members prefer to the compliance of the OE rubber bushes.
