Hi all.

I purchased a 2002 XKR Convertible a couple of weeks ago. I love it. I am in the process of doing some audio upgrades and will be fitting a Bluetooth adapter and an (what I think is) Awesome replacement for the craptastic navigation system. (I will post the details when I am ready to install it - with pics)

Anyway, the car has an Ipod adapter cable in the center console that works with my Iphone, no charging. It replaces the sound from the CD player. So I will hopefully be able to use this as my new audio input (not an Ipod or Iphone.)

As I was looking around the car, I noticed two speaker grills that make no sense. One is on the A Pillar on the passenger side of the car and the other is above the front passenger seat belt. I tried to remove the grill, but it was being uncooperative and I did not want to break it.

The grill looks the same as the grill on the center overhead console, by the lights.

I am thinking that maybe these are microphones for a hands free unit, but there does not appear to be one installed. It is possible the previous owner took it out, if there was one.

Not sure why they would be on the passenger side.

No sound comes out, so that is why the microphone theory.

Here are some bad pics I just took at night with my phone. Better than nothing for the time being.

When I have time, I will remove the grills to see what is behind them.

Those are all ultrasonic occupancy sensors for the passenger seat airbag.
