This last weekend I entered my car in a Jaguar car show sanctioned by Jaguar of North America, and it received third place in the Xk8 category beating out later years. It also received a special award by the state police for one of the top three cars in all car shows at the state fair. By the way this 1997 only has 24K miles on her.
After seeing the great threads for the XF and F type, I thought we needed a similar one to just post your pics on! Before, during, or after mods, painting, or just plain great pics of your cars!! It's would also be fun to see a few with the proud parents of our cars in the pics too!! Anything interesting with your car in the pic!
It's always fun to run across the occasional photo in a thread but this one is just for our photos!
Maybe if it goes well, it can be a sticky! It would be a great place to remember former and lost members before its too late, as well as the new owners to come!!
Just picked up this 2003 XK8 4.2L just over 100k miles. 😀
Here's my contribution,
I bought the car last year after it had been parked up for 8 years. Plenty of work done and more to do ,but drove like a new car today for a nice autumn drive in the sun. This car would make it to the moon and back so don't believe all the hype about reliability. My 5th xkr and sleeps with my 2003 coupe. Who's a lucky man.😁

I’m the second owner having purchased in 2022. I’ve done some mechanical freshening, all fluids, sway bar bushings, a/c repair, convertible hydraulic lines, new electronic struts, tires, brake pads and a few more I’m sure.
Scored a 998.4 in the New England JCNA Concourse show last year and we took third place (XK8/XKR class) in the nation in the JCNA slalom event last fall. Recently fixed up...then the unthinkable happened...
I brought the car back from abandonment...upgraded suspension, supercharger, sound, fixed the convertible top, had it repainted, it looked like a dream! The pain job was destroyed by the Nevada desert where it sat since 2005 It only had 37k miles on it, but ran...
[img alt="Then, after repairing the body, repainting it, and adding a kit to make it look like the Typhoon model, it looked great.
But on the drive home I looked in the rearview mirror and white smoke was coming out and a strange smell.
Not sure what happened during the time while it was being repainted, but now I have a blown head gasket.
My gorgeous low mile, brand new looking XKR, with a spectacular Nitron suspension, extraordinarily great sound system, cant be driven. Ro, so sorry to hear after you did such an awesome job bringing that back! Well done, it looks gorgeous.
Keep us apprised as you fix the head(s). Also tell us about the suspension and sound work you did.
Consider starting your own thread here on your XKR as it provides you with nice documentation over time (Click the pic in my .sig below to see my thread).
Plus, the Bay area is such a great place for classic vehicles, I'm sure you have some great scenic drives in your future that we'd love to see.
I'll need to paint mine at some point. Did you do it yourself or can you give us a rough order-of-magnitude on what the prep and spray ran you in terms of both time and treasure? Also, where did you source the body kit from? I really like the simplicity of that front bumper, so many kits add extra/unnecessary seam lines.

Last week my wife and I took my beautiful, early (96) xk8 up to the far NW of Scotland for its annual, pre-winter lay-up run. This has become a tradition since I acquired her (the Jag, that is 😂 in March 2020,l. We did over 1,100 miles in 6 days, heading up the west coast, the Great Glen, back west to Ullapool and further north from there. She never missed a beat and, as you can see, looked splendid in the Highland scenery of Glencoe. Came back via Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow to Manchester.
I couldn't imagine a better vehicle on which to complete a trip like this. She even achieved over 30mpg for the total journey!
I'm already looking forward to getting her back on the road next spring.
