was thinking about putting the leaping jaguar on the bonnet of my xk. has anyone got photos of one already? what are your opinions??

It's obviously a personal preference, but I don't like the idea. I think the lines of the car are beautiful just the way they are, and the leaper would just look like some silly bling on the hood. That's just my two cents.

 

I have seen a few and none of them looked good. It either angles too low or sits too far back on he hood. I like the leaper, but leave it for the XJ.

 

If you are serious about it, Arden offers one made to fit at the correct angle...for around $400.

 

i think i'll leave it the way it is. it takes from the cars sleek lines. thanks for the photos!

Lepers look great on the XJ's and X's but they just don't look right on the XK's. I've seen a couple of XK's with the leaper on the hood and it really didn't look good to me. It's like they're afraid people won't know it's a Jag.

 

I agree that the leaper takes away from the sleek look. I have one of these license plate holders, which, I think, looks pretty good.

 

When I was looking for my XK, I let one go because it had the leaper added to the bonnet.

 

I don't like lepers. They creep me out.

besides the design of the hood just doesnt let you put leaper on it, its the same thing with coupe mercedeses , the ornament just doesnt fit on coupe mercedeses thats why even the CL comes with no ornament

Have to figure out a way to cover the hole before I remove it.

 

A friend had one that came on his bonnet. To remove it he had to have the bonnet repaired and resprayed.

 

looks great on my xj6's,but out of place on an xk8-r.saw one[xk8] on e-bay,had badge and leper.i felt sorry for that guy
