Were there versions of the XK8 made without the XK8 badge on the back. Mine doesn’t have the badge and I am wondering if it has been respirated and the badge not replaced.

 

Can’t see how to edit my original message. I wanted to say I was curious if my car has been re-sprayed and they did not put the badge back or were there models with the badge.

I don't think there were any produced without, over the years, a variety of badges. On your XK8, it would have been very unlikely for Jaguar not to have put the XK8 badge that had an unobtrusive hole in it, to disguise the trunk lock keyhole under the righthand light cluster. It just looks wrong as it is.

 

I have removed badges from a few cars just to clean up the look. Maybe someone felt the same way in a previous life for your car. my .02. TM
