XK8
What chassis is the XK8 built on? I Read some where that it was a slightly modified XJ8 chassis. Then, some where else saying it was basically an XJS chassis. Anybody seen both types of cars on a lift? It matters to me because I've got an XK after having multiple XJS's and an XJ8 and to be honest the ride quality this car by comparison sucks to use a technical term. Don't get me wrong the handling is excellent too excellent. What I mean is that since I've worked as a professional stunt driver I'm no pansy when it comes to driving near a car's limit. However, I can also say with certainty that 99% of the owners of these cars could never drive these cars to their limit even if you could find a place where that would be sort of safe so what's the point. Why give up so much of the famous jaguar combination of ride and handling.
What I've read is that when Jaguar went to all aluminum construction, they saved 400 lbs. but instead of making the car lighter they made it 50% stiffer by using 400lbs. more aluminum in the construction I would have thought a compromise of say 200lbs. lighter and 25% stiffer would have made more sense. That's a long post to get to the point which is that I'm considering selling the XK and buying an XX8 to replace it. Your thoughts please.

Your signature says 2009 XK which must surely be an X150 (XK) rather than an X100 (XK8), even though this is the X100 forum? Your questions appear to be applicable to a different model.
EDIT .... I see now that it's your typo in your last line which threw me.
The X100 is indeed based on the old XJS chassis and is a softer ride with less precise handling than the X150. However, the X150 is superior in every other respect
