Default XK8 brake improvements

My wife has been borrowing my S-Type R for errands, etc. while her XK8 is getting repainted. Today she got back in her car for a short drive after we got the convertible hydraulic system flushed and afterward she remarked how weak her XK8 brakes felt in comparison to my car.

I explained to her that my car was more performance oriented (Brembo) and that I would see what I could do to improve the feel of her car. So far, you may recall I flushed and bled her braking hydraulics to improve the mush pedal. I am asking if you can recommend pads with more of a 'bite' than stock.

Thanks in advance!

Here you go btw, also lower her tire pressure to 28 psi all the way around, that how the dealer did mine.It was in the instruction manual, and improved stopping and wet traction

Perhaps changing out the factory rubber flex brake hoses for aftermarket teflon/stainless flex hoses might reduce some of that 'spongy' brake feel.

I replaced my old solid rotors with new cross-drilled, slotted rotors, and sets of ceramic pads. Seems to have helped with better stopping and heat dissipation. Less brake dust build-up too!

hell, his hoses may be bad, they are what over ten years old?

When I get new rubber, I buy heat shrink at home depot-big ones, slide it over the rubber, shrink away., light coat of black rtv over that tube, put new one on, shrink away.

makes the life INFINITE

I don't feel and mushiness with the pedal after the hydraulic fluid flush. I think she's just spoiled by the feel of the STR brakes. I will try the upgraded brake pads.
