Default XK8 clock/GPS screen for video???

Anyone tried to convert the Clock/GPS screen for a video camera input?? The GPS data is pretty old and does not look so great. Better info on the Iphone, However, I don't seem to ever know where the front is and, since the bottom front panel/valance is gone, neither did the previous owner, Even the oil cooler is in danger from concrete parking barriers.
So, I thought that a front mounted video camera might be nice.
Is there an easy way to do this???

Sure, there are a number of companies that allow you to put video on the OEM NAV screen, Nav-TV being one, it's not difficult but count on spending a couple of hours to do it cleanly and correct. You didn't mention what year your XK8 is?

Thanks for you reply. I have a 2004 XK8 that I just bought less than two week ago. So far I have worked on only hydraulics - replaced the "green shower" lines and yesterday it was the power steering. Now on to new items......
The current display has the clock and Nav System. The Nav System is pretty outdated and I would like to put in a forward looking video camera and feed to the display.
.
Will check out Nav TV pronto!!

Thanks

There are quite a few threads on here about replacing the OEM sat nav with a 5" Garmin unit - you can either get an older one with a direct input for a reversing cam, or a later one with the wireless input. You then have a touch screen sat nav with updateable maps and you can add front and back cameras.

I used to offer a plug and play video kit at TheJagWrangler - Home - About Us, but the components are increasingly difficult to get. If you are patient I may still be able to get them.

More people these days seem to opt for my nav to 3-gauge conversion (XK8 / XKR Navigation to 3-Gauge Conversion - TheJagWrangler) which is really a more classic look along with added functionality for the XK8/XKR. I still offer these kits.

Feel free to contact me here: http://www.thejagwrangler.com/contact-us.html

FYI, I have an extra gps and the garmin with video in (and cable) and the odb2 hd mechanic. I was going to do the conversion but we lost the car to a wreck.

Pm if interested.

NavTool is still selling NavTool 3.0 for $329: https://www.navtool.com/jaguar-xk-xk...interface.aspx. If you want to add the capability to monitor oil pressure, you'll need to track down PLX Devices SM-Fluid Pressure Sensor Kit with iMFD Module (no longer listed on PLX website; I'd reco- calling them). You'll also need PLX Kiwi 2 WiFi (assuming you're using an iPhone):

. I also recently changed my phone to Bluetooth connectivity, because it was pre-wired for this. The advantage is that, when making or receiving calls, the phone's input is via an external microphone and the output is through the car's speakers. To do this, I substituted Discount Car Stereo's BT45-JAG ($160) for the AUX-JAGR adapter described in the article. (I can send you more details on BT phone option, if you're interested.)

Thanks for all the input. Need to check on the bluetooth option as I am using direct bluetooth streaming from iphone to hearing aids. Any input on the BT option is much appreciated. I am using Andoid for GPS navigation. Is it possible to input both Iphone and Android to the display??

According to the Navtool website, you can order with either Android or iPhone adapter. https://www.navtool.com/jaguar-xk-xk...interface.aspx
