Default XK8 Clock Repair

I posted some time ago to see whether anyone had made a repair of a (very) slow running clock. There being no raised hands, and having acquired a used 2004 MY minor instrument cluster, I dismantled the module and the clock stepper, and fixed the problem. I have written all this up and taken photos of the process and repair.
With a little courage, and some de-soldering experience, it is not necessary to mortgage the house to buy a new module from Jag, nor even to gamble on a used one (which could have more hours on it that the original); a decent one with refund and shipping reimbursement guarantee will cost between $50 and $100. There are a few on eBay for well over that. The chrome pointer module used MY 2004-2006 are harder to find and therefore likely more expensive.
Time is one thing, but the out of pocket cost for the repair was only $7.
I have a (lengthy) step-by-step and a number of images available; what is the best way to publish the 'how-to' on the forum (assuming that members see the value in doing so, of course)?

Just post the information here - you can upload photos to the forum, or use an external hosting service, but its better to use the forum as the images are more likely to stay around as long as the forum lasts - its the square icon with mountains on it on the toolbar.

I'm sure plenty of people would be interested in the details of your repair, so its well worth sharing.

I agree:- if you've gone to the effort of documenting, please do post up.

Default Repairing the XK8 clock

I think I need some guidance on posting the write-up: I could copy and past the first section from Word, and then I copy / pasted the first image. I did not attach the jpeg file. After that, I could paste no more! It was like I had maxed out the capacity for a reply. My idea was to have the images available within the text, just as they are in the Word document, rather than just attaching a jpeg file, but perhaps that is wrong?
Please let me have some more info?
Thanks!

You should be able to attach the word file to the post as a file. Try advanced editing and then the paper clip thing.

Or print it as a PDF and just attach the PDF.

Default Repairing the XK8 clock

I am throwing in the towel - er, oily rag - on this one. Maybe it's a combination of ineptitude on my part and the file size of my jpeg images, but I can get an initial swatch of text, then one image (copy / paste or 'paper clip' inline file upload) and then I can add nothing more.
I haven't located any guidelines / instructions on how to create / post this sort of thing on the forum,
I am willing to give Box cloud access to the Word file and embedded images, if requested, but as someone commented, such access is only as permanent as I am, which isn't as seemingly permanent as it once was!
If someone wants to request the file I am also happy to oblige.

Box server needs an eMail address before I can make the Word file available.
I can't find a way to use PM to do this. Come to that, I can't even find out how to send a PM!
As Mr. Eastwood famously said: A man's gotta know his limitations! Not having the e-version of a Rosetta Stone, I think the Jag Forum is my limitation!

I've attached Atlastajag's write up of the clock repair as a PDF - essential reading for anyone with a dodgy ticker.
