Default Another successful high-tech repair thanks to this board!

Problem: Windshield washer jets malfunction and have incorrect aim.
As you know, there are four jet outlets on our X-types, two in each of two housings. Only one per side was functioning, and the
one on the passenger side was aimed to land its stream squarely upon the sunroof glass (no wiper provided). Jaguar says that the
jets are not adjustable.

Solution: Using specialized tool, jets are cleared and aim is on-target.
After performing a forum search on the subject, I obtained the recommended task-specific tool shown below to free all
jets of clogging materials, and, accurately ADJUST the aim of the errant jet.

Result: Success! Increased spray pressure and a sparkling-clean windshield!

Thank you, jaguarforums.com!!! Seriously!!!

Is that a Metric or an AF tool?

Glad you asked, Sir! I hadn't given it a thought.

However, after a little study, and since the average diameter of the device is exactly 1mm, the overall length - positively 50mm, and the longest measurement of the eye is precisely 4mm... I'd say "metric"! My theory is further supported by the fact that the sturdy, high-impact carry case in which it came from Jagbits.com, displays a label that identifies United Kingdom as the country of origin.

It may also interest you to know that the tool is machined from a solid block of 100% 316L surgical grade stainless steel. As such, this model will easily resist corrosion that might otherwise be caused due to chance contact with commercial windshield washer-fluids.

The cost of $29.00 plus shipping may seem a tad-bit pricey for this instrument. But I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. And it is a Jaguar, after all.

Ahhh better than the $145 dealer retail price for the tool. I see the specialty aspect as the tool is slightly curved... you see thats the precision engineering.

Exactly! That most-subtle curve allows just the right leverage, using one's middle finger as a fulcrum, to precisely adjust the direction of the stream.

You know, I always thought this applied to quite another sort of tool, one used every day....
