I have a 1998 XK8 Coupe. Over the past month I've been having problems with my driver side window either not going up or going down. SOmetimes when I shut the door the window will not move back up into the closed position automatically. Now, yesterday the driver side window will sometimes not move at all. I can heat clicking inside the door when I hold the power window button, but it doesn't move. Then after a couple of minutes the window will move. Then it it freeze in place again.

I have tried the reset proceedures of holding the buttons for 10 seconds while down, then 10 seconds in up position. DOes anyone know if the problem is the switch, motor, battery or something else. Can't really afford $$$ to have a dealer look at it, much less fix it.

Any assitance would be greater appreciated!!

well if youre hearing the door module click I doubt its the switch, pull the door panel and test the motor to see if its got power and ground when you hit the switch. If nothing is inteferring with the window intself and you have power and ground at the motor you need a new motor. Im sure Jagtech probobly has a good tested used 1 he'll sell you

I read from another guy owning an older xk8 who got inside his door and found alot of a gummy substance that was impeding his window travel. I would first take off your panel and give it a good look over to see if something similar is happening.
