Question XK8 Hose Replacement

As a result of my Belt failing, the hoses need to be replaced as well, due to heat expanding/cooling. I am confident I will not have an issue replacing them but as far as buying new hoses, will AutoZone do ? Should I get them from a dealer ? Does it have to be a certain type/brand of hose ?

Thanks !

If Autozone has them, it should be OK, but this car has lots of hoses and not all may be available aftermarket.

Try Direct JPLV Porsche Parts.com for good pricing on Jaguar parts.

Did your car overheat?

Thanks ! The issue I had was that the belt broke, I just bought the car and I forgot to check belt.

Randomly the battery light came on saying 'Battery Not Charging', as soon as the car got hot I immediately parked and had the car towed. It cranks fine and sound fine. I did this twice just to check and I am quite sure no damage was done because the the engine was hot for only a few moments, however, the hoses right above the blest/radiator expanded and do need to be replaced.

Fingers crossed...these aluminum block engines cannot take much thermal abuse, but your smart quick action probably saved it.

The temperature gauge on the XK8/XKR is not reliable. The engine will overheat long before the gauge moves. Follow the link in WhiteXKR's post #4 above for the full story and his ingenious fix for the problem.

Is it only the Top and Bottom Radiator hoses that you're concerned about:

These are widely available but there are several more in the cooling system only available from the dealer.

I believe it is only the upper/lower hoses but I wont be under the car until tomorrow. And I will follow the link.
