XK8 Inspection List
On Sunday I will be test driving a 2001 XK8 Coupe with 70K miles, that I am interested in purchasing. Anyone have a short list of inspection points of what to look for? Thanks. Jeff
Have a look here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ts-data-29800/ Any other specific questions you have we'd be glad to help you with.
Everything except the top hoses.
Actually you have a lot of friends and resources here to help you. Go out and put the pedal to the metal and enjoy. If it goes like crazy and feels like it's handling and braking well, the all the rest is just regular care and feeding as we're all familiar with. If you like working on cars and/or have an open checkbook then jump right in and join the party. There hopefully is a history of engine upgrades, if not, bargain hard and DIY.

As most of you know buying an XK is usually an emotional purchase and filled with mixed emotions bouncing between a buying a practical car and one which you will be excited to drive. After searching the internet for 2 years I found low mileage, black - sorry (Anthracite Pearl) XK8 Coupe which was almost perfect! A garage kept, never driven in the snow, original owner who hated to see it go.
Gents, thanks, your postings have convinced me that this site contains the technical knowledge to solve most common issues. Already in just 5 days, your threads have helped me in the diagnostic and repair of, loose mirrors, ABS and traction control warning lights, a window that ratcheted down but not up, and more.
Next I'm going after the motorized head restraints, and fluid changes.
Today I had my first compliment when driving..... First thing that I thought of was "smiles per gallon" cheers.
