I'm an X308 owner but two things: 1: I've never seen the word Lucas used as a verb, but it sure fits and I salute you for the grammatical conversion; and 2: boy oh boy oh boy are Jags susceptible to doing weird things if the battery voltage/charge gets low. I hope the new battery holds up well and there is no substantial underlying parasitic drain to put it to the test.

Used to ride German motorcycles until I met a group of British motorcycle collectors/riders/restorers. Later I purchased a BSA Gold Star and my life changed forever, hahahahaha.

Vintage British motorcycle riding requires a lot of wrenching and beer drinking. Once you get proficient in the beer drinking you can start an introduction in Lucas madynos and electrical systems. Drinking helps with false sense of bravery needed to ride at night with a 6V headlamp when working.
