Hi all, about 6 months ago I posted a problem of my 97 xk8 US car having the following complaints;
1 no crank
2 top doesn't work
3 no serial data to my scanner
4 message center saying electrical fault
with all that I asked for help and got alot of posts.
the problem was a defective ignition relay located in the trunk. When I checked for voltage at the ECM connector EM10 terminal 1, it was dead leading me to test all relays.
I could have diagnosed it months ago but I made the mistake of sending out my ECM for testing at a place called Automotive scientific. Do yourself a favor and never deal with this place!

even if it was misdiagnosed it’s a net benefit you got it remanned.

 

Great news! As an aside, I bought a cheap 4 and 5 pin relay tester to check my relays. It runs a test of all pins and gives you a Go/NO Go status. Well worth having to do a very simple test and give yourself confidence in your diagnostic journey.
