Default XK8 Showing ER

Hey guys, I have been doing several little fixes and adjustments that I’ve read up on here to allow my 2006 XK8 to run better. I have an issue now with an “Er” showing up on my temperature display, along with a low oil pressure and low coolant warning. *This only happened AFTER I replaced the instrument panel bulbs that had burned out.

Earlier in the morning I had pulled off the MAF sensor and cleaned it with CRC MAF cleaner as suggested here. No issues all went well. The day prior I had adjusted my Throttle cable which was off by 4-notches, still no issues. But now that I’ve replaced he’s bulbs I’m having problems.

Any sugestions???

Er = ERROR (in the climate control) but, provided all was well BEFORE the IP bulb change and AFTER the other work, the associated warnings suggest the refitting of the Instrument Panel could be the cause. I'd go back over the remove/refit to eliminate this before thinking about other potential causes.

Did you disconnect the battery before you did all that? Try a hard reset- negative cable off the battery and touch the positive post, then after reconnecting turn the ignition on for 30 sec. before starting.

GGG, absolutely was the issue! This go around decided to use electrical cleaner followed up by an air duster to make sure connection are clean and good. Plugged everything up an no more low pressure or low coolant warning. I still have an Er when I turn on the car. Tackling that next.

You must have removed the knee bolster panel to have been able to get at the instrument panel. Did you remember to reconnect the little aspirator fan unit when you put the panel back?

RJ237, astromorg I did not unplug the battery and I did reconnect all components. I think I just didn’t plug in the main instrument wires in plus I replaced the bulbs again but this time the correct Jaguar bulbs and not upgraded bulbs. I’m not sure which fixed the issues but the issue has been resolved and she is purring just fine with no warnings. Thanks for the feedback!
