Default Xk8 starting problems

Hi i have a 1997 jag xk8 that was starting ,running super well i parked for one week ,i try starting it,does not crank all that i get is a on the dash display a light
That indicates bonnete , has someone had a similar problem that can point me in the right direction thankyou in avance for your help it is greatly appreciated

Do you have access to a code reader ,obd2, and if so what are the fault codes, is the battery fully charged ,12.5v at least prior to start,any other symptoms?

(I've deleted your identical post about this issue from the end of Thomas Eggleston's Intro thread.)

Battery has to be the first suspect - especially when you see odd messages appearing in the dash display.

Next favourite is connections in the High Power Protection Module (see item 5):

Cable connections are known to come loose or break at the lugs.
