Scrolling through the site trying to get some information like range, horsepower etc. which I could not find, I went to the tab Cars For Sale. There was listed an older Porsche 911 that showed 365 hp, 0-60 under 4 seconds, but only a maximum of 50 mile range on a charge. Not too practical for anything but short commuter driving, not exactly what you want to do with a high performance vehicle. Interesting concept though. And, of course, the Jaguar conversion was the most expensive.

My thought has always been that if I wanted a fuel efficient car, I'd have bought a Prius. Besides, my twin brother drives a hybrid so I figure that together we balance out. Also, at $17.5k, this is a very expensive mod.

I definitely agree, and I would miss that wonderful V8 burble. Just thought it was interesting to see.

And it looks like, even at that price, the battery is not included!!

Like WhiteXkr said,
Electric cars do not have the burble that we love so much - totally agree with him. For me that's a deal breaker.
On the other hand, does anyone know if It's possible to modify our XK's to run on natural gas. When I lived in Belgium in the 90's, almost every taxi cab was modified to run on it. I wonder if this degrades the HP though?
