Default XK8 - What used to be here?

I just bought a 1997 XK8. I notice that just underneath the seat belt on both sides there are some holes. I'm looking for some idea what used to go here.

Any one know?

Thanks!
Tom

Don't have that on my '01. It is smooth with no holes or other attachments.

Thanks! I wonder if it used to have some sort of badging there. I reckon someone will be along who has the detailed answer.

Mine doesn't have that, but I'm betting a simple piece of plastic that protects the leather from the seatbelt... thingy. When it's hanging there unused.

There was a seat belt holder there for the buckle ,probably broke like all the other plastic.

Default Thanks!

I appreciate the replies.

A departed seatbelt retainer makes sense.

It's for the Seat Belt Webbing Retainer (item 12):

Right on, and turns out mine does have those! Yep, simple little plastic bracket thing. Good junkyard parts candidate.
