His signature block shows a 99 XK8 so it would be a 4.0

I've used Beck & Arnley parts on several British and German cars over the decades. They seem to be just fine. I'd order them without any reservations.

Beck Arnley parts have been good quality for many years. I have never used the coil packs but over the years have used their stuff on various vehicles with good results

Default Parking Brakes XK8/R All Years

I'll be honest guys, I haven't installed these yet so I can't give you a review of them, but at $16, it's a no brainer experiment.

Anyone found a replacement for the fog lights? (LJA5091AC & LJA5090AC)

Mine doesn't have any (removed as broken and not a legal requirement here) but would dearly love to fit a set that were like those in the new Mini that are combined driving and fog lights.

Standard bulbs or LED am not fussed but would dearly like to fill the two gaping holes with something usable...or else will just have to fashion some type of RAM air system

Yes am aware of several light fitments as per your link, the question is will it fit an early XK8?

Or tell me which one did you use?

Default External door waist seals.

I do not suppose anyone has found a replacement for the external door seals on the XK8/R yet? Gen ones are super rare and super expensive. I have been looking for ages for replacement seals where I can just peel off the metal and stick that on to new seals.

So anyone found an alternative?

Thanks.

My jaguar specialist fits Lucas DMB1151 for a 2 pin coil pack

On ebay they are circa £25 each in the UK new, naturally later models use a 4 pin which doubtless Lucas have a part no for that (which I believe is DMB1152)

Default oil cooler isolation mounts

I replaced my oil cooler hoses and noticed a couple of broken isolation mounts (instrumounts part MNA6730AB from the SNG Barratt catalog).
My local dealer wanted almost $50 apiece!!
While looking for something unrelated in the McMaster-Carr catalog I found "vibration damping sandwich mounts" which look almost identical for a little over $6 each.
Next time I'm working on that end of the car I'll replace mine and provide and update.

Yup - 40+ bucks a piece for the Jaguar Vibramounts (or whatever they call them). I also found them them for less than $10. I think it's posted in here somewhere. Good find. I have no idea why Jaguar doesn't want to support us.

Default Parking Brakes Follow-up

Installed those cheap parking brakes a couple of months ago and they actually seem to be working out great. My originals still had plenty of meat on them, but I believe they had become glazed and couldn't keep the car from moving when put into "Drive" or "Reverse". These new ones can at least do that. For $16, if they're still available, they seem to be a no-brainer. See my post just a couple above this one for the link.

This is all good information for newbie to Jaguars. My usual sources are not Jaguar parts suppliers.
I've have already found a lot of Ford/Lincoln parts are interchangeable with the XK8 I have at considerably less than the dealer wants.

Have any of you had any experience with 'Jag Bits'? When I do a search, they come up a lot, but I don't see them listed by anyone as a source in this thread.

Thanks.

JagBits is one of our forum sponsors and no issues using them. This thread deals with the non-OEM side and jagbits provides OEM

Default 2004 xk8 alternate fuel pump motor

After much investigation, I found this pump suitable spec wise for replacement status on 2004 and up xk8's only thing out of line is 5 pound increase on psi output. It a import direct oem replacement part # E16021 and strainer that will fit into module (with some tweaking, bending) Precision fuel pumps S13005 Both on the shelf at O'Reillys Auto Parts. Its not a direct plug N go the power leads need to be changed out due to a different clip in that powers the fuel pump. Upon replacing my original i found the + connection looser than a wet goose! so the new clip was appreciated.

Today I found that the front shock absorber bump stops, at least for those with CATS suspension, is shared with a few Volkswagens, namely the Jetta, Golf, GTI, R32, Tiguan, Eos, Beetle, and Passat for between the years 2005 and 2015. (depends on the model).

This is the Volkswagen part number: 1K0 412 303B
I can confirm that it is an exact fit, down to the same foam material. I wish I could've found some urethane ones, but this will have to do.

I am interested in knowing the required coolant hoses for my 2005 XKR X100 vert. One C2N2615 hose at Jag became a $655.00 usd repair. Now I have another coolant hose leak. If I turn the A/C off, there is no loss of antifreeze from the reservoir, but the engine gets hotter. With the A/C on, there is fluid loss and I can drive maybe 25-30 miles and the loss is about 4-5 fluid ounces. Would I be smart to replace all the coolant hoses except the new one? Where is there a diagram and list of hoses required? I think URO was oem for Jag at the ti,e mine was built, but the people love to have part numbers I am looking for to reference. Any suggestions for a Colonial on this side of the pond would be appreciated. So far in my care for my car I like your James Bond have tried to keep up the British end.

Regards,
Arland Green
