I don't know about Ford parts, but the cooler on the earlier models is nowhere near as expensive as the one for my 2005. Someone had fitted (or there had been a parts-use-up order at Jag) an earlier model to mine, and it was leaking. Once I realized that the latter was shorter - less tall - (and therefore less prone to damage) and also less expensive, I replaced it with the same type.
If your car is similar, I don't think it will be easy to change the hoses / fittings. There is a rubber seal and special steel ends on the lines, and they are held down by elliptical hold-down plates trapped on the cooler lines, and having has a single securing bolt. At the time, I didn't realize this, and wasted hours trying to shop for the identical orientation, but those plates are free to rotate. This is important to know because some coolers have the securing bolt location oriented 'fore-n-aft, whilst others - mine - were offset at an angle.; the rotating design gets around that, as long as the tapped hole in the cooler is on the same 'bolt circle' as the original, which they seem to be (I concluded that on the basis of my 2005 having an earlier model cooler but yet no problem adapting to the hoses.
Also, I think that it will be difficult - impossible, probably - for the lines to accommodate a cooler of different width or mounting method. You can find replacement rubber Instramounts (Qty 4 reqd) at nowhere near astronomical Jag prices, if you are willing to shop around.

I just replaced the electronics in my 2001 XKR's key fob (no longer working even with new battery, and the reprogramming procedure didn't help) with a $7 aftermarket key fob from eBay that's listed as being for Fords. I searched for the FCC ID on the back (CWTWB1U322) and the Ford ones came up, and after reprogramming it (instructions at https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...4/#post1841806) it works just fine. Note that since I'm going by FCC ID, this may be a US-only option, unless your national (or EU?) standards body has a similar lookup number you can refer to. Also, this seems to be limited to the later key fobs with asymmetric keys; the earlier key fobs with all four identically-shaped buttons don't have this specific option unless there is a different interchange they can use.

Headlamp washer pump
Hi All,
Here in the UK the high pressure pump for the headlamps washers, part LNA 7031BA, is only available from JLR Classic and the usual suspects for the same bargain price of £113+ tax. An almost identical pump is fitted to early Range Rover Discoveries and many other cars. I bought one, part no DCM 100560, from fleabay for £16 delivered and it works fine.
Be aware though, that some pumps on sale have more than 90° between the inlet & outlet pipes - these won't fit.

This $10.00 filter (or it's equivalent) is available at most auto parts stores. Use the codes FF677 and/or G6340 for cross referencing. Just cut away the plastic clips and it's a perfect fit. Should be be good for at least '03, '04 and '05.
The catalogs will steer you toward the threaded end filter (also in the pic). I think they're for earlier cars than mine, but I don't have the specifics.

a few trips to the autopart store and an exact match in size/ fit has been found.
WIX 33078 also... it is a 20 micron filtration.... this seems to be common.
happy new year to all !

This incorrect. Early impellers were Black Glass filled Nylon 66 and they got destroyed by the Dex-Cool Coolant. Jaguar changed to Black PPS then to White PPS. The Aluminum impeller ones are all aftermarket. None were ceramic.

Greetings, does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement micro switch? I have a 1998 XK8 (X-100) and need to replace a Burgess 9726 micro switch that is located on the Jgate shifter. It seems that they are no longer available and there are so many switches on the internet that look similar but look like they will require major modifications.

$5.95 each (free shipping) About 1/10 the retail price of $50!!!!
At a minimum, we need these for our oil coolers and air filter boxes
This is an eBay seller, "Parts4export". Because any particular sale may have ended when go to look for it i won't bother listing the URL. But they call it a, Fuel Injection Air Flow Meter Mount.
Finally!!!

Bill, from my experience, this forum, and the Jaguar owner's online breadth of knowledge and information sharing is far superior to that available with any other car. What these cars lack in aftermarket support, it makes up for in that aforementioned regard.

Ford
I was looking for a more reasonably priced alternative to the Jaguar OEM fuel filter 1X43-9155-AA/C2S20977 and found the WIX 33078 to be an identical replacement to the filter used on the 2003+ XK8/XKR's with the quick connects. It is made in Poland as well so I suspect t may come from the same plant. Its about $10.00 Attached are some pics for comparison. It has good flow specs too.

Aditive pollen filter
I don't know if this is the right place to upload this project, but since these are non-OEM parts, I am providing you with the latest addition to my xk8. It came without a pollen filter and now it is impossible to find one. So additive manufacturing is on our side.
For those who are left without a pollen filter and want to install it, I upload the STL files. Look at the total length, it is 432.5 mm. I say this because according to the program the file is interpreted in inches or mm, we will have to multiply or divide by 25.4.
I upload three STL: complete piece and in two parts to join with appropriate adhesive to the plastic used or by applying heat.
For installation, a gearbox casing screw (cut) is very practical.
Additive Pollen Filter Housing
With filter
By the way, regarding the silembloc of the oil radiator, which appears in several threads, it is better not to put them and use a screw with an intermediate stop. The back and forth motion causes the pipes to become fatigued. Consult a hydraulic distributor. This distributor can also remake these pipes.
Thanks for this forum that is still alive.
