Thanks XK Racer;

Do you want the email for this guy he has lines of supply on lots of wheels?

He is in Cardiff.

I was really looking for a second set because I know the rims get banged up and having two different color sets doesn't really make slipping one off and putting on a spare wheel very useful if they don't match.

And I am with you on tire dimensions being critical on wheels...not so concerned with slightly over-sized tires being fitted as in Plus 1 or even Plus 2 for performance gains but have always been attentive to having correct and good tires. I must have over half a dozen spare sets in the garage right now for my other cars.

Plus in a tragic story about five years ago I had a deposit on a BMW M5 when the seller had a fatal tire failure on the M1 before it could be delivered. He only sold very high end vehicles so must assume he knew how to drive them and must have caught a nail, cut, serious pot hole, etc. to be killed driving a car he knew intimately.

So I am going to stick with the silver Detroit Montreal's on my Zircon Blue convertible.

cheers,

jamjax

PS where are you based?
I will be picking up my car next month in Richmond, Surrey.

PSS Update: What a dope I am, of course, you are Paragon Design in Norfolk

I would not run 285s on the front, the strain put on the steering and suspension would worry me.

But standard would be 285/30/20 rear and 255/35/20 front.... And just FYI BBS wheels are only 2 piece unless you count the trim which nobody does in the business
Bingo. The strain on the steering components would not be good. As for "done all the time" wouldn't someone on this forum be able to corroborate that?

Rev. Sam are you running 285 rear wheels on the front with those 275 tires?

This guy has offered to let me drive his car in Cardiff to prove it is OK with 255 tires on 285 size rear wheels mounted on the front of his XKR.

Now he is saying he can get a set of four new rear Oyster colored 20" BBS Detroit Montreal size 285 Wheels for 300£/$480.

Has anyone seen a Zircon Blue XKR with Oyster colored wheels?

It doesn't sound like they would look good together.

He seems to think they are better quality than the silver 'painted' wheels.

Plus they are 100£ cheaper per wheel than the two rear silver wheels I was going to order from him and wait for two more silver fronts.

cheers,

jamjax
