XKR after PE, or how I nearly didn't make 2012
I won't bore you with the details, but basically two weeks ago, more or less out of the blue, I found myself in hospital following a pulmonary embolism. I'm 47 and have never had anything like this happen to me before. I am home now and recovery is slow, but more or less assured, though according to the cardiologist, I am lucky to be alive. Glooops!
Anyhow, one of the first 'naughty' things I did yesterday was jump - well, actually it was more like a crawl - into the Jag and take her out for a quick blast in the winter sun. It cheered me up no end
Here's wishing you all a happy and, above all, healthy 2012. I look forward to getting back to tweaking my Jag and relying on all your invaluable advice.

Congrats on your recovery Frog! I totally understand why you did what you did. One of the reasons that I bought my XKR is because I came to within two weeks of checking out, according to my surgeon, back in May. It's makes you open your mind and realize that life is about more than work etc.
Doing things like driving my jag, riding my Drifter etc. relaxes me, as I'm sure it does you. Just remember, hands at approx 4 & 8 is supposed to be easier on the heart while driving. But if you're feeling "Good", place them at 3 & 9, and have a ball ! Health & happiness to you.

Jeez Frog Mate!
Very sorry to hear that and very happy to hear you are on the mend.
I wondered where you had been...last we heard you were going to the Jag Factory.
How was it? Is that what knocked you out? Good or Bad?
Let me invite you to the Rally this summer that SteveinFrance and I are trying to put together for Expat's with Jaguars.....we are thinking Loire Valley-Bordeaux region.
Steve lives in the area.
I was actually kind of counting on you to come and help.
Jeeze Sqeet!
Glad you out ran the reaper.
Jeeze Meenez MJ!!
Glad to hear you are beating your stroke.
I am recently on the forum but have enjoyed all of your posts and would miss them and you guys, no kidding.
It confirms and conforms with my rationale for pulling the trigger on getting a 'Super Car' again....whose to say I won't be next?
I am sure Alag and Malbec feel the same way.
And you're both invited on the Rally this summer.
Might as well have fun before that, eh what friends?
Glad you all made it to the New Year.
May this one be better for all concerned.
cheers and a toast to all of you.

I'll add my thanks to Frog's. Unfortunately, I'm not driving yes but will be doing some mods to my XKR, with the help of a friend and motorman's shop, which it not far from where I live. I want my baby to all ready for me when my doctors release me to drive again. Again, thanks to everyone on this forum, you guys are great.

Once again, many thanks for all your good wishes. Very heartening
Mjlaris, my thoughts are with you. Getting back behind the wheel of my XKR was at the top of my list of things to do (sex will have to wait a while longer, I fear... ), so I can imagine how much you are looking forward to your doctors giving you the all-clear.
