Default XKR in the Blue Ridge mountains

Thought I'd post a couple pics of the "R" on a beautiful fall day in Asheville.

Nice, and what a beautiful day for it. It doesn't look like the foliage is quite there yet. I'm hoping to get out to Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah (the northern tip of the Blue Ridge Parkway) this Friday. I kept putting it off last year and never made it.

My wife and I were thinking about heading up to the BRP this weekend, but we just didn't get around to it. When is the peak leaf season up there? I know we must be getting close.

Howdy Mountain Folks:
The wife and I hit SC-9 at Spartanburg and got hungry around Lake Lure. After lunch, we drove as far as we could drive to the top of Shumont mountain. Very twisty 2 lane, but I did behave. Yes, it was a beautiful day.

The leaves are at their peak around 3500 ft. as I speak. I would say this coming weekend is going to be great for viewing the colors in and around western NC.

I'm in the Blue Ridge Mountains as we speak, and it's pretty green up to the 3500' elevation range. Only the tops of the hills are in full color this week.

I would say the peak color will be from 10/23-11/1--next week.

Unfortunately, we're not in our Jag--but in my SuperDuty diesel crew cab. It corners in the North GA mountain roads like a pig, but it climbs the hills like a billy goat with 700 ft. lbs. of torque.

So I see no one has caught the inconsistency in my second pic. So what's strange about that XKR?

Now that you mention it, I don't recognize the license plate and it also appears you have something beneath your convertible boot cover.

Got it--Never been to the Turks and Caicos islands as yet. I bought the plate for $3 in Oranjestad last year during a stop over on a cruise. Once I saw "One Happy Island" I figured that was my Jag. I feel like I'm on a happy island whenever I'm crusing the mountains.I forgot to mention my 2011 bonnet vents I installed earlier this year. Never really cared for the shark skin vents.

Bamaman---enjoy those leaves! I'm actually sitting in my home office at 3000' and got to tell ya the leaves are at their peak--golds, reds, greens and purples gotta love it.--I need to take a long lunch on the parkway.

The parade boot isn't on there correctly, you have to tuck in the sides or else it looks like an ill-fitted toupee. Lol it looks like a great drive, and nice hood vents btw.
