XKR carbon edition features..
Hi all, I’m in the market for an XKR convertible for a weekend car, I’ve always loved them and finally in a position to purchase one.
I’ve looked at so many and I’ve decided I’d really like to get a carbon edition.
This is where I need help, I can’t seem to find any info online that details the key features that come with the carbon edition and I’m aware that you can purchase carbon interior kits so I don’t want to pay for a 4.2s posing as a carbon edition...
for example I’ve seen one for sale with the expected price tag, it looks incredible but doesn’t have the Recaro seats.. surely they must have been standard??
If anyone can help that would be great!
Thanks in advance, Dean

Thank you for that, I did see this earlier as I thought somebody may have had the same query.
I find it mad there isn’t a standard specification detailed anywhere for the carbon edition considering so few were made.
I’ve seen two convertibles for sale, one has Recaro seats and the other doesn’t but all other aspects are the same..

Deano,
Jaguar's first celebration of the XK's Trans-Am racing history came in 2005 with the release of the 200 XK8 Carbon Fiber limited edition models. This XK8's featured a Carbon Fiber veneer across the Dash and center Console. The special XK8 also featured Alcantara inserts in the seats and door panels. They had 10 spoke 19" "Altas" style wheels and the aluminum and rubber-studded Foot pedals, an all-Leather Steering Wheel and a Momo gear shift knob! They didn't have Recaro Seats, as they have the Alcantara inserts instead.
.
Remember, they are kind 'a special in that only 200 were shipped to North America! This was before the 2006 "Victory" Edition was released in 2006!
Good Luck finding one, as they will probably want a premium for it!

The Carbon Fibre edition was introduced exclusively for the UK in late 2004 based on the XKR and limited to 100 examples in either Coupe or Convertible form. Buyers could choose any colour and trim from the then current range although the dash was naturally always carbon fibre.
The edition was later extended to another 200 Carbon Fiber models for the US in 2005 to the specification outlined by Billy in post #4.
