Xkr engine noise
So I have a 50000 mile 2000 XKR with an engine noise staring up cold.
It sounds exactly like a hot engine cooling down, metallic ringing like a light hammer on metal.
It occurs every few seconds for a bit while warming up. It seem to emanate from upper engine like intake plenum.
If I drive it down the driveway and stop for a few seconds, it never occurs, even when still not warmed up.
Tensioners were done, this is not a chain rattle. Almost like a church bell every few seconds. It has developed a belt squeal until warmed up.
A friend suggested cracked exhaust manifolds... which I've never heard of on a Jag.
Otherwise the engine is super smooth and quiet.
Any suggestions?

I don’t have an R but isn’t there a bearing on the front of the supercharger that can get noisy? And something else at the back that can make a different noise that I am forgetting the specifics of at the moment?
