Default XKR Radio Display Not Working

The OEM radio in my 2006 Jaguar XKR Victory Edition recently went crazy. Although the radio and its functions work fine, the display itself appears with jibberish. Is there a way to fix/reset this? I already tried a hard-reset with the battery. No luck.

I would say that's a faulty radio, and probably wants replacing.

Some car stereos have a reset button on the chassis. Probably on the rear of the chassis, which means you need to pull the unit out to get to it....

If you have small hands, or have a willing participant, you can try to reach up and over the center console to touch the rear of the head unit.

it can be done under the right circumstances, but not unusual to have a scraped up forearm afterwards.

There is no such button on this radio. If you want to see photos of the back, ebay sale listings are a good way, eg: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226101425826

Thanks for the link. It does appear that there is no reset button (saved me from trying). Also looks like a replacement unit is <$200 on ebay. But if I'm going to pull the unit, maybe I should think about replacing the head unit or center cluster with something more current (i.e. - bluetooth compatible, etc.) Any suggestions?

I’m a fan of Discount Stereo’s Bluetooth add on to the stock system.

but if you are starting from scratch and getting rid of the stock system, then I’m sure others will chime in
