Default xkr suspension overhaul

I have a 2002 xkr needs front brakes and rotors, L & R hub bearings, ball joints, and struts. Thanks to the posted thread here, I will do the work myself and follow the step by step. Can anyone recommend the best place to purchase the parts? Best prices. I also will install lowering springs when I do the struts. I want to install cross drilled rotors and ebc pads. Please help. I cant take my road trip until I complete this.

Just completed the rotor and pad swap myself. I got the EBC Red pads at AutoAnything, and I got the slotted and cross-drilled rotors at iRotors. I was pleased with the service and pricing at both. I think iRotors has an eBay presence also. YMMV.

Doing it yourself is smart. I'm too busy to do it, so my Jag is down the street having a pro take on the task. He's replacing front and rear struts and mounts plus replacing all cooling hoses and flushing the system, and rebuilt the ABS module. It will set me back $4-5,000. I am really looking forward to being able to drive the 2000 XKR cabrio that I bought a few weeks ago! The engine and transmission are in great shape. I'll drive it a while before I get he leather redone and paint it.

Pads and rotors depends, Summit Racing has great prices when they have a sale, Rockauto used to be cheap, but seem to be getting more pricey. PartsGeek has good prices, there are several websites w/different names, but are the same company. Look for discount coupons for RockAuto, PartsGeek and others, best prices on ball joints and struts I have found have been on ebay, got my bilseins there for $30 less than I could find anywhere else. Not sure about the springs though, you might be able to take yours to a spring shop and and the upper section heated and lowered.

The Hub Bearings (Front Wheel Bearings) require that the Spindles (Vertical Links for the Brits) be removed to be worked on at a bench. A special Jaguar Tool must be used to remove the Tone Rings to access the Wheel Bearings. Tone Ring removal requires SUBSTANTIAL Torque with a wrench handle about 4 or 5 ft long.

Do not Under Any Circumstances use a Hammer to attempt to Loosen the Tone Rings!
