XKR upgrades for xk8
Are there any parts from R's that are different from 8's?
Are the brakes and rear diff different? If so I assume there an easy swap......
Has anyone ever sourced an R hood? At what cost?

You can find XKR hoods on ebay or at Jag salvage yards very easily, and they are not that expensive. I saw some on ebay a few days ago that would obviously need to be painted, but were very reasonable.

However, installing CATS on a standard car would involve lots of additional Electronics, Sensors and Wiring, in addition to the CATS shocks themselves.

All sorts, depending on which years you wish to compare.
It's cheaper to sell your XK8 and buy an XKR if that's what you want.

For all the upgrades I wanted, it was far cheaper. I own both a 97 XK8 and an 05 XKR, fwiw. In almost every regard, my KXR has everything I wanted to upgrade on my XK8.
