xxxx happens!!
It all started when I got caught in a flood 2 weeks ago. Muddy water up to the doors. Anyway the up shot seems to be I have now developed a sticking brake caliper on the front end. No problem there then you might think. Trouble is and this is were the bad stuff starts happening in jacking the XKR up mistakenly put my trolley jack under the sump instead of the sub frame...should have worn my glasses, me being of a certain age. Before I realised my stupid error I had the front end up. Quickly dropping it back down and examining the sump I have put a pretty big dint in it.
My worry is have I damaged the oil collector inside the sump or something else I am not aware of? I have never felt so sick in my life. The car runs and oil pressure is normal. The only pressure I have to worry about is my own blood pressure going through the roof because of my stupidity.
Any advice would be so appreciated. Sad and depressed XKR owner.

Ouch!
That's a DTC code I haven't seen before.
The sump is held on with 18 bolts and there's nothing else in the way. If it were mine, I'd be dropping it to check.

Provided you don't go near the lip, it would give you a chance to knock the dent out as well as inspect the pickup.

Oh well, all's well that ends well. The engine sump turned out to be steel. I decided on balance that it was easier to replace it with a new one rather than attempting to bash it out. Cost from Jaguar £80....
After I got over my near death experience, I got quoted £513 for new front brake caliper from Jaguar, I sourced one for £300. The front brake caliper has now been replaced. I have also applied for membership of the "Old Fxxts Club", and now accept that it is all down hill from here.
Lessons learnt:
1.Trust not my aged eyes.
2.I am 61 not 21[the grunting when I bend down proves that]
3.Only buy parts from Jaguar after I win the Lottery.
Cheers and thanks for your help and comiserations, the depression has lifted.
