Years/models with same seats as 2002 XKR?
My understanding is that the first few years of the X100 XK8/XKR had the seats with integrated head rests, and every one after that had the same stock seats with separate, adjustable head rests, unless they had the optional sport seats with much larger side bolsters.
I have started shopping for some seat covers for my 2002 XKR convertible (which has the standard seats) and I'm seeing some strange information on vendors' websites that seems to indicate more changes. I'm guessing that the base stock seats only changed that one time, and the websites are simply incorrect.
Is my understanding correct that my 2002 XKR convertible has the same seats as any XK8 or XKR from 1999 on, and therefore any seat cover that says it will work for a 2000 XKR should fit my 2002 without any problems?
I'm interested in neoprene seat covers, and the ones from CoverKing look pretty good to me... does anyone who has used them have an opinion on them?
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums Silver2002XKR,
There's FIT and there's IDENTICAL. Can often mean very different things! The options and change points were:
Early seats with integral headrest ran to VIN A11050
CLASSIC - vertical pleats
SPORT - horizontal pleats
From VIN A11051
CLASSIC - vertical pleats
SPORT - horizontal curved pleats
RECARO - also with integral headrest
JEPC indicates these options ran from VIN A00083 to A30644 when side airbags were introduced.

Thanks so much for the great info, GGG!
It looks like those side air bags came in for the 2001 model year... that might explain why I'm seeing sear covers that stop at the 2000 model year - they never re-designed those covers with breakaway seams for the side airbags.
I will not roll the dice on those!

This issue was addressed in 1998 with the sedan and the dealer I worked would NOT install seat covers on X308.
When the X100 from 2001MY onward came with side airbags, the policy was the same.
Jaguar issued a TSB.

No reason to think XK8 would be any different.
