ZF5HP24 Selector Switch - No Longer Available?
Hey Forum members. The selector switch on my 5HP24 is testing bad and SNG Barrett just informed me that the switch as well as the cable is no longer available from Jag. Has anyone been able to source a new switch elsewhere or are we doomed to source used on ebay?

Be aware that the ZF5HP24 and the W5A580 gearbox mode switches are DIFFERENT but both will plug into the harness connector.
I had a customer car at the dealer that would not operate in SPORT MODE.(Jaguar with ZF5HP24 gearbox)
I ran all sorts of diagnostics and finally realized that the customer (or previous owner/repair person) had installed a SuperCharged mode switch for the Mercedes gearbox.
I ordered the correct part from the parts dept and replaced the switch. (and surround bezel as that is how Jaguar sells them)
Car worked again in SPORTS MODE.

I'm describing the rotary switch (aka "gear selector switch") on the passenger side of the gearbox. This has tested bad and needs replacement. I am getting the P0706 code and the gearbox fault which is putting it in limp home mode. I have followed the ZF5HP24 troubleshooting flowchart for the P0706 error and the flowchart is pointing towards "Replace Selector Switch". I tried adjusting the cable as well but with the same results..

if you're feeling adventurous, you might try a repair:

Will take a look to see how adventurous I will be LOL. Thanks for the info. UPDATE: Looked at the entire procedure and I would be prone to try this on a used unit bought on eBay. If I can effect the repair as well as what was depicted, then all will be well. Otherwise at least the car is derivable in it's present state and not totally disabled. Thanks again for the link.
