XKSS on the Main Line 1960
This is a long shot but I’m trying to find out who owned an XKSS on the Main Line in 1960. I was a 13 year old with a passion for cars, especially European, living in Gladwyne. Around the corner was a guy who tolerated my company while he ported and polished the head on his TD. Around 6am one morning I heard an engine. I knew it wasn’t a TD. I threw on my clothes and ran down the street and there was the most beautiful car I had ever seen-an XKSS! The owner was very gracious and showed me around the car; the expansion chamber exhaust, the right hand drive. then he offered me a ride! We drove around Maplecrest Circle, surely waking everyone. It was marvelous! Obviously it left a lasting impression on me!
As I recall the owner was only eight or none years older than me and might still be kicking tires. If I could track him down I’d love to belatedly thank him for one of the most memorable rides in my life.
Thank you
