Removed the fan to secure the duct assembly to it. Fresh air inlet is on the right, recirculation inlet is on the left. They are linked, when one is open the other is closed.

Bottom view. This is the recirculation vent. If it's open, in cabin air goes into the fan and them back through the duct system. If it's closed, then the top vent is open, and fresh air is allowed in.

A bit hard to see, but corrosion on pin 1 (the lower pin) was making the connection to the ECU intermittent.

Jumpering from the wiring harness to test pin 1 corrected the issue, but wasn't sure how to make this a permanent solution.

Then it occured to me to just plug the wiring harness into the test socket! This is working for the moment. Some day (probably not until it breaks again) I'll hunt down a newer connector and replaced the corroded one.

In the foreground is the bypass unit with the electric cutout attached. Both are Summit Racing products, as is the muffler. I've not wired it up yet, thus the hanging cable.

The bypass, if left in this state, will dump the raw exhaust on the back of the muffler. I may not be able to find a downpipe short enough to fit, so I'll probably just weld one up (or two I should say). You can see the stock exhaust setup in the background.

Just a different view. It's a fairly tight fit, but there is some wiggle room for things to move around. The angle of this photo makes the cutout valve motor look lower than it actually is.

In the back is the stock exhaust setup. I was concerned that the new muffler might be to loud for "normal" use, but the car isn't any louder now (when not in bypass mode of course) that it was with the stock muffler. I had to choose the new muffle based on its size and length as it's a tight fit down there.

Another view of the electric cutout. I don't think I'll be able to find a premade pipe to divert the exhaust down, so I'll probably just weld one up myself. I'm not that great of a welder, but none of this will be visible anyway.
