The cut end. The clip.inside has a machined ledge so that it will not compress to.release the gear. I destroyed 2 pullers with massive reinforcements trying to remove these. I only have ever successfully removed 1. I thought about a machine with hydraulics but too much for no return. So cutting is my method lol

Love this thing, she goes!!! Now that this is fixed the white XKR goes in the shop in a few days and engine coming out! (Just hate leaving the XFR outside trying to find a friend that can put her up a few days inside lol).

Every red dot is another Jag. White, black, silver and blue all run. Son working on silver one... so i let him plug away at that. Blue one im lazy on a vacuum leak.... white one is my donor flood, way back in the field under the cover is the XKR i just bought with a seized engine.
