Default bought a salvage 2015 v8s

well received my cali car Tuesday .its not what I hoped but that's how it goes .going to need a lot of advise from you folks here --will post some pics asap. first question I have is what is up with the oil .I have had or have a few jags (+- 10) but all with 4.0/4.2.what has happened to the good old dipstick .took a lot to make sure I had any engine oil .so I could start engine after I charged the battery. just seems overly complicated to just change oil .

If you think it's overly complicated changing the oil you're gonna be in for a surprise trying to fix the rest of the car. Hopefully you don't have any body damage, because that's gonna be very difficult to repair.

Oil change on this car is just like any other car except there's no dip stick. You check oil level on the cluster.

Trying to repair an all aluminum car sounds like an absolute nightmare. Good luck. Post pics of the car before you start anything.

Can you use caps at the beginning of sentence and break text into paragraphs as appropriate? Sorry, but I write and edit as a job and am really **** about it.

Please give us a call if you're looking for any parts!
We have a number of slightly used panels such as hoods, doors, fenders etc for F-Types in various colors.. Plus wheels, mirrors, lights and such.

Since the car will have a dramatically reduced resale value, you should turn it into a proper project:
620+HP pulley/tune
Weight stripping campaign (Ti exhaust, cf wheels, airbag delete, seat & battery swap, etc.)
6 speed Tremec
Lowered suspension
Etc.

Yes, what Unhinged said! or turn it into an out and out GT racer!

Also, try using the 'Search' feature within the threads...the subjects of oils/dipsticks have been done to death, and there is lots of great information to be had.

That sure doesn't look like it has an engine in it... that or there's something significantly wrong with the cradle

+1. If the engine is still in it, the work needed on the unibody will cost more than a used car in pristine condition.

Eek, you may be ok if there is only panel damage on the hood, nose and fenders and bolt on suspension components but if there is any chassis damage it is going to be bad. And unfortunately I think there is no chance there isn't.

Looks to be way too much panel and structural damage to make it a doable cost-effective repair.
But there could be a profit in parting it out, in particular the engine and transmission (if undamaged) and the seats.

If you do decide to part the car out, I'll be happy to take some interior bits off the car.

Default Good luck

i wish you all the best here. I just bought a 17 F type so did a lot of reading prior so understand this will get complicated. Lot of respect for you, for taking this on. It will be a challenge.
