radio power on problem
I have a 1998 VDP left drive with a strange problem.
When I park my car and turn off my key and remove it the radio or cd changer remains on and playing.
I push the off button on the radio and all turns off.
Sometimes the radio or cd will come back on by its self and remain on and run the battery down.
I have talked to my local jag tech and he has no idea as to what the problem is.
If you have any info as to where To look for this solution please lt me know.

Radio code calling
I just joined, having given the local dealer and national Jag rep (Karmen in Jersey!) my vinYLF19803, my no. on the radio back, Model AJ2000w, LNF4100AA, or 020108(n18), and am waiting for phone contact from either for the radio code in order to play it after having unhooked the battery. Would it matter if the car was titled salvaged via a car fire before I got it? I've put 20k miles on it in two years. I got cam tensioner replacement and some cooling replacement from a Jag man's garage early and have driven in luxury, power, and style since. Pioneer style, I fix everything I can, using forums and internet info. Mechanical types mostly need info., tools, parts, and their own wits and determination to see a job through. Sites like these rock! I hope to add some helpful info in the future.

I might not have been clear about the radio staying on but it does it only once in a while most of the time it will operate correctly and turn off with the key
Only once in a great while will it stay on when the the key is turned off and other times it will turn its self on by its self after being parked for hours.
At one time it had been parked for at least 6-7 hours and as I was working outside in the yard I saw the antenna go up and the radio start playing so I dont think its a bare wire.

Believe it or not I am inclined to agree with you about the electronics.
parked in my garage it gets to about 125-135 real easy
Today we are getting to 111 degrees and a metal garage gets real hot I am also thinking that if there is a relay that controls the entertainment package the contacts areflexing from the heat.
Yesterday was the first time in a year of owning my car that my cooling fans stayed on to cool the engine after stopping the car .
It gets pretty hot here and we see a lot of Caddys on the side of the roads steaming.
