90's Honda Accord w/VTEC
Hey everyone,
So, I'm a little conflicted on if I should post in this new member thread because:
1.) I've already posted a few times in the forum
2.) I don't own a Jag... yet.
Right now I'm looking at purchasing an XJ6 because frankly they're quite pretty. I'm also starting to appreciate the "Jaguar story".
I've owned a mid 90's Honda Accord for over a decade. When I first purchased it I anticipated that within a couple years I'd get tired of it and want to move on to something new. It's a pretty standard bullet proof and kind of boring Japanese car.
However, something changed when I started to do routine maintenance and repairs. At some point (I'm not exactly sure when) it stopped being just a car to being a sort of relationship. It went from being a mode of transportation to something that was living and needed me as much as I needed it.
Reading the forums and seeing that many Jag owners have such a deep appreciate for their cars is quite appealing to me. I hope to own a Jag soon and continue the "Jaguar story".
Glad to meet you all in this more official manner!

My '95 Honda Accord is coming up on 270k miles; original engine and transmission. Great little car; darn few problems in the grand scheme of things. Should have no problem reaching 300k. Just a couple hours ago ordered a 'timing belt kit'....#3 for this car. I enjoy keeping it in good shape...but it doesn't capture my heart like my Jags have

Welcome to the forum Alex,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Unless you are determined on a Series I, II or III, the later X300 is worth consideration. Robust and reliable. The intermediate XJ40 is a great car but can be a challenge with the electrics for anyone unfamiliar with Jaguars.
You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the search for the right Jaguar and enjoy the forums.
