Location Coffs Harbour NSW Australia.
I have owned a 81 V12 XJS since 1992. No real issues however rubber hoses are again due for replacement. A dreadful job. Also have a 2002 XJ8. Presently about to change the RH front door seal on the XJ8. The Workshop Manual refers to the use of a "suitable lubricant to the upper section of the seal". Any advice on what constitutes a "suitable lubricant"? AviPro.

Welcome to JF
Welcome avipro . . . and greetings from a former Coffs resident, and fairly regular visitor. Yell if you would like to get together for a coffee - I'll be over your way from tomorrow (Friday) till mid next week. Always worth a drop in to Denis Spagnolo's workshop in Lyster Street. If keen, I'll send my mobile number via Private Message.
Enjoy the forums. We Aussies are a fairly laid back lot where first names tend to abound . . . but the huge international membership offers great friendships world wide . . . and a vast resource of expert technical advice.
Best wishes,
Ken
