Default Xenon HID S-type

sorry, if this is an easy answer, but I can't find it anywhere.

My 04 S-type has the HID upgrade. It looks like I have a light out and I want to get the replacement bulbs, but I cannot find what the spec is.

does anyone know?

If it's a factory HID the bulb is listed in your owners manual.
If you don't have one you can download it from this site.

Is yours out? I ask because it might not be the bulb.
I would swap it side to side to see if it's a bulb or ballast.

yeah, I will do that. I just want to buy the bulbs from a local retailer rather than online. I am hearing stories that a lot of bulbs are counterfeit and sub-standard. Also, if I get the wrong one, I can take it back with less hassle.

Also, it's in the missdle of Canadian winter, so I want the bulbs in my hand if they are the problem. I don't want to be working outside any more than I have to.

Jumping in with a new to me problem, my left HID has been on/off for 48 hours now, 07 S but only 16k on it. Typical complaint?

On and off tend to point to ballast problems.
Again if you want to be sure swap them side to side before replacement.
They tend to last a long time.

Aside from me crashing the car and breaking headlights I have not replaced a bulb or ballast yet!

The STR's have special black HID's and are very hard to find!

Hmm, mine an 07 but only 16k. Reminiscent of my old Mark 8 ballasts.

Not sure that's the problem but don't want you to replace good parts.
