lol..having grown up driving on the 3 series (318i, 325i, and then the 335i) I find the comment laughable. The beemers of today are stale and devoid of any soul. They have departed from being driver's cars to being status symbols for the nouveau, pseudo-yuppy imitators who can;t find their own identity so they borrow the previous generations. Got over the 3 series in my early 20's. I am 43 now.

From my perspective, the XE is a great car. I drove the tar out of it when Jaguar was conducting their US unveiling tour and drove the V6 R version. I have not driven the XE in 4 cyl trim, but it looks like it serves as a good point for entry into the brand. The 4 cyl in particular sets up quite nicely with the comparable German offerings and is exponentially better than anything that BMW or Mercedes offer at that price point and they have much more allure than the cookie-cutter german cars. I respect the fondness for the BMW's, but really the only reason they beat out Jaguar is price entry point is generaly quite lower. But most are striped down base models. Once you start loading it with options, they compare with what Jaguar gives you.

According to some published reports, the gas or petrol ingenium engine is just now in production for 4 cylinder and the 6 cylinder in 12 months or so.

Yeah, I have a Ford EcoBoost 2.0L turbo engine in mine. Much faster than the 2.0L in my 15MY Focus SE

Did anyone else hear about the news of the JLR engines being stole a few days ago? I wonder if they were the new ingeniums
